This portrait is a response to Renoir's La Parisienne, which hangs in the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff. I'm not a particular fan of the painting, though was drawn to it for the challenge of making such a large piece (it's the same size as the original) and the opportinuty to make a daft joke with the title - Hanna being from Powis, in North Wales.
Very thankful to Hanna for getting into the spirit of the project and choosing her outfit so carefully, and to the Museum of Modern Art Cymru, Machynlleth (Hanna's home town), which kindly exhibited the painting in 2016.
